Complex messaging can seem almost impossible to avoid in business. With more and more companies having networked models, or becoming platform businesses, being digital only, or hybrid, serving multiple customer segments or one small niche segment. Add into this mix the fact that many organisations are attempting to make something easier for their customers, and they do that by taking on the complexity themselves – often through a digital solution that deals with the complexity ‘back of house’ so the customer sitting ‘front of house’ gets to reap the rewards of simplicity, efficiency and convenience. But the customer still often requires some understanding of what ‘the wizard behind the curtain’ is doing in order to trust the solution.

This is pretty much where we were at with Project Future Card during phase 1 – a collaborative ideation between Darwinian Consulting and Healthy Land and Water, supported by Thoughts Drawn Out. An amazing value proposition, complete customer focused, a dedication to removing complexity for end users. But we needed a way to simply and clearly articulate not only the what and why of this great idea, but also the how in order to bring the end users along on the journey.
